Congo (DRC) Ministry of Health announced that 12, since July 11th, the eastern part of the country has reported 3140 cases of cholera cases, at least 117 people were killed.
Announcement said, due to the power shortages, goma, north Kivu province, drinking water supply is disrupted, after residents use contaminated water, the rapid outbreak of cholera. Although the authorities took measures, but the epidemic is still in the diffusion, the situation is not good.
Cholera is due to the intake of food or water an acute infectious disease caused by the vibrio cholerae pollution, patients often appear the symptom such as vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, high fever, severe or delayed treatment can cause death.
